2018/January/This Week’s setup

So, it’s 2018. Where has the time gone?

I spent my new years eve on a bus headed back to my hometown, and I got in at 10 minutes to midnight. Safe to say that after 14 hours on a greyhound, I was not looking my best, most glamourous self. Either way, I made it to my cousin’s house for midnight, and we spent the first hour of 2018 playing beer pong, so it was pretty good regardless.

Of course, the first thing I decided to spend my christmas money on was a new bullet journal. I decided to get a dotted journal this time, instead of the lined ones that I’ve been used to – this one is also smaller than the ones I usually get, but I kinda like it – it’s forced me to change up my spreads and try some new stuff, so I’m not mad at it. I’m still going to use my other notebook, but moreso for lists and stuff – kinda like what Kaylyn Nicholson talks about in her 2018 plan with me video.

Some other new things for me with this bullet journal are the markers I’m using. I bought some of the Tombow Dual brush pens – actual calligraphy markers – which are actually super hard to get used to and thats why my spreads look like ass this month. They’ll get better with practice, I swear. I got like 5 or 6 separate ones instead of the whole set, but whatever.

I also got some washi tape and some stickers, which I never used in my previous bullet journals, just because I was feelin kinda extra. Sue me.Β  Anyways, here’s what I’m workin’ with. (dont mind the lighting – childhood bedrooms arent exactly renowned for their HQ light set ups, now are they?)

anyways here’s my busted new bullet journal, because I actually got a lot of requests from my friends for this post because I never shut up about my bullet journal. sorry about it.

what’s cool about this journal is that it has an index just kinda built in and its awesome because i never had that in my old journal because it just seemed like too much work and I’m generally a lazy piece of garbage πŸ™‚ but this one does all the work for me!!!

I made my first pic a quote page because I kinda love them. This is what I want my 2018 motto to be. Boom.

my next two pages are the 2018 at-a-glance and my goals page. I sectioned it off into some other, smaller goals. If you read my New Years Resolutions post (which, if you haven’t, wyd??????) you already know what I’m putting in there. the yearly overview was a PAIN IN THE ASS TO MAKE because WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT MANY NUMBERS

this is my future log – you know when you have stuff to do like, next month or a few months from now or whatever? this is where I’ll write that stuff down. I do different themes for every month, so I’ll add those colours and stuff to every month as it comes.

here’s my january planning – this month I was going for a kinda rustic/hand drawn feel, with a light blue accent colour. For my cover page I drew some mountains and stuff but I didnt put a picture because it didn’t turn out well and I didn’t want to put it on the internet. Like these one’s aren’t good either but ask and you shall receive, you know?

the weekly and spending tracker are the biggest changes I’ve really had to make with the smaller journal – I usually have these together on one spread, and it’s usually laid out way differently – but I kinda like this??

let me know if you guys wanna see me do these kinda posts monthly, and you can track how much better my calligraphy gets with these fancy ass (EXPENSIVE ASS) calligraphy pens.

  1. Ugh, I’m always so fascinated by bullet journals but I just don’t think I’d have the time (or art skills) to make it so pretty! Maybe one day, but for now I’ll just admire yours from afar πŸ™‚

    1. I didn’t think I would either!!! I draw like a 6 year old, still. That’s what’s so awesome about the bullet journal system – it’s so unique to you and your needs πŸ™‚ if you’ve been thinking about it, give it a go! It’s the start of a new year, what better time than now? Xx
